Innovation plays a crucial role in the economies by boosting productivity and economic growth. Take a look to the Information and communication technologies as a perfect illustration of the transformation capacity and the potential for growth of innovation. Created jointly by Cornell University, the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the global innovation index 2016 move Morocco from 78th place In 2015 to 72nd place in 2016. Thus Morocco ranks ahead of Tunisia (77th), Egypt (107th) and Algeria (113th), and ranks the Kingdom among the top-ranked middle-income economies.

There is a need to say that, the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) became the driving force in the innovation on renewable energy with a huge research and training facilities with an original Green Energy platform located in the green town of Ben-Guerir (50 km north of Marrakech).
The Green Africa Innovation Booster, July 12-13 is a demonstration:
– Setting up an African network for green innovation during this “Green Africa Innovation Booster », with several partners, namely Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso Faso, Sudan, Tunisia and Morocco. this network seeks to strengthen scientific cooperation across the continent in the field of renewable energies
– Come together for presentation and demonstration, involving Africa, Europe, Asia and Nordic countries to foster the spirit of green creativity and discussing the tools and mechanisms to support research and development
– Demenstration and exhibition of successful innovation strategies and models from Morocco, Africa and around the world are presented at this global energy hub.
– More than 100 startups, from several continents, have exhibit their most innovative products, services and processes in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, smart grids
– A competition was organized to prize the three most innovative startups, the best innovative R&D project as well as the best PhD thesis.
Congratulation to IRESEN and to CEO Badr Ikken and his team
